GIGA and Microsoft together launched the TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) program today in Bangalore! Many thanks to Ravi Gururaj and Geetha Ramamurthy for kickstarting the program for 24 bright and dynamic youth (9th and 10th graders), 33% girls and all very keen on Entrepreneurship participated….Snigdha Kundu, program Manager
TYE, a TiE Global Entrepreneurship education program for youth was started in Boston, Massachusetts in 2005. After a successful run of this module at TiE Boston chapter for 5 consecutive years, TiE Global partnered with the Boston team to launch the TYE Global in 2009 and began its first pilot in which 5 TiE Chapters (Boston, London, Carolinas, Seattle and Delhi) participated.
The first TYE Global Business Plan Competition was held in May 2010 at MIT Campus, Boston, Massachusetts. Since its inception, 5,000 students from over 100 schools worldwide have participated in the program that was led by 20+ TiE chapters and over 20 companies were started by the youth globally.
