In the US, in every city, every month Tech After Five connects the tech community. Invitees are IT Professionals, Startups, Entrepreneurs and Service Providers to the IT Community to come together and make meaningful professional connections. You may be looking for work or looking to hire. You might be looking for customers or prospects. You may need co-founders, partners or mentors. All is covered.
Last week, GIGA in partnership with Let's start conducted the Inaugural Event in Bangalore in collaboration with TA5. This was conducted in the Stories Pub near Mahalakshmi metro station and above the GIGA 77 office. This was the first event conducted outside of the US.
Judging from the positive feedback we have from the invitees, significant connections and a couple of initial conversations related to partnerships and deal making happened in the event. The progress on this will be shared soon...
This is what Phil Yanov, founder and community organizer Tech after five had to say before the inaugural event.
The hosts for Tech After Five: Bangalore were Shashidhar Jakkali and Geetha Ramamurthy.
Ms. Ramamurthy is the co-founder and CEO of “Ignite Career Confidence,” a communication and career skills development company and GIGA (coworking company) located in Boston and Bangalore. She is also an advisor to Keiretsu, a large global angel network
Mr. Jakkali is a serial tech entrepreneur with over 20 years’ experience in the global IT industry. He is also the promoter and a mentor at the start-up incubation centers “Let’s START” and “Smart Co-Work.”
Like all other cities, the event is for tech professionals, business men and like minded and will be conducted every month. Tech After Five is not like other networking events. Care is taken to make sure we get the right people in the room and then make sure it’s easy for you to find each other.
Invitees sign up using the right ticket type and the organizing team will follow up with custom emails that let them know who you can expect to meet.
Custom printed badges is made available for the event that make it easy for everyone to find the people you are looking for.
Networking can be hard but the TA5 team tries to make it as easy as possible for you to meet the right people. This is because TA5 believes that when smart people come together, things happen.
As the feedback goes of the event goes, participants were happy to share what they did and were eager to collaborate with potential partners at the event. A lot of people met people in complimentary lines of business. They loved the venue, easy to get to and the food/drink was great. The atmosphere was very conducive to networking.
The event itself didn't have a strict agenda which kept the focus on the guests and their individual interactions. It didn't feel forced or over-scrutinized. People had a good time, relaxed after a long Friday at office and got work done among like-minded people.
With this, we successfully launched and completed the inaugural event and hope you and more will join us and become part of our community.
